Welcome back, you friendly degenerates! I’m Eric Heater — host of the Heater Dynasty Podcast, your one-stop shop for all your fantasy football and DFS needs.
This week, we’ve got another Thursday Night Football showdown slate on DraftKings, and it’s shaping up to be an interesting one. The New England Patriots take on the New York Jets, and on paper, this looks like one of the more lopsided matchups we’ve seen this year.
The Patriots are 12.5-point favorites with an over/under of 43.5 points, and the storyline couldn’t be clearer — two teams heading in completely different directions. Plus, we’re excited to see these new “Nor’Easter” uniforms.
Before diving in to this NFL week 10 Berlin Showdown Strategy, a quick plug for my DFS tools and community.
If you’re a hand-builder like me and want access to the same lineup builder I use every week, it’s available on my Patreon for just $15 for full-season access.
Not ready to commit? You can grab a weekly pass for $5, which includes:
If you like it, you’ll even get a promo code for $5 off the season pass. You can also find the same tools on my Etsy if that’s easier for you.
And don’t forget to check out HeaterDynasty.com — it’s got my projections, rankings, and all my latest articles. I’ll be adding even more in-season data soon, including wide receiver target breakdowns and advanced stat models.
The tool isn’t about rigid projections — it helps you craft lineups based on game flow and narrative, which is crucial for single-game showdown slates, such as this NFL Week 10 Berlin showdown slate.
Drake Maye has been playing at an MVP-caliber level this season, leading the Patriots to an impressive 8-2 record. Meanwhile, the Jets sit at 2-7, though they are riding a modest two-game win streak.
And as we’ve seen time and again in divisional matchups — anything can happen. Just last week, the Dolphins upset the Bills, so it’s not impossible for the Jets to keep things interesting here. But let’s be honest — I still think the Patriots handle business.
So, the big DFS question becomes:
How do we get different on such an obvious slate?
When everyone expects the Patriots to roll, you have to ask:
This week, I’m focusing less on deep data dives and more on narrative building — because in single-game slates, storytelling beats spreadsheets.
I’ve had much better results trusting my gut on these island games — building lineups around how I think the game flows rather than just raw projections.
1. Drake Maye (QB, Patriots)
No surprise here — Maye is the most expensive player on the slate and projects for the highest ownership, especially in the captain spot. He’s been the heartbeat of this Patriots offense. If you roster him up top, you’ll have to get creative elsewhere to differentiate.
2. TreVeyon Henderson (RB, Patriots)
If you think the Patriots control the game script, Henderson’s your guy. He’s got both volume and touchdown equity, and I expect him to be heavily involved.
3. Breece Hall (RB, Jets)
If you’re playing the “Jets keep it close” narrative, Hall makes for a strong contrarian captain. You can pair him with Justin Fields and another Jets piece for a 2-4 or 3-3 build, then bring it back with Patriots studs.
4. Stefon Diggs (WR, Patriots)
Maye and Diggs are finally clicking. Diggs has averaged 19.4 fantasy points in the captain spot recently, and about 15 points in flex, making him a reliable option for balanced builds.
That means Demario Douglas and Mack Hollins should see bigger roles. Douglas, in particular, has been solid when Boutte sits and could easily pop for value here.
Tight end Hunter Henry also stands out as a must-have glue piece. He’s been a consistent target for Maye and a reliable red zone option.
Given the low total (43.5) and divisional nature of this game, both defenses are viable.
I also like including both kickers in certain builds. On these slower-paced, lower-scoring Thursday games, kickers often make or break the slate.
For value plays, consider:
If you expect a blowout, load up on Patriots. Think:
If the Jets stay competitive:
If you’re expecting a sloppy, low-scoring game:
You can’t play everyone. Among the top options — Maye, Henderson, Hall, Fields, and Diggs — you’ll likely only be able to get to two, maybe three.
Of that group, I’m most comfortable fading Justin Fields. The Patriots’ defense has been strong against mobile quarterbacks, and without Garrett Wilson, his ceiling might be limited.
This Week 11 Thursday Night Football slate might not look exciting on paper, but it’s full of strategic angles. If you lean into your narrative and commit to your story, you can find leverage in unexpected places.
I’ll be posting updated roster percentages and data as they come in — so make sure you’re subscribed and checking back for updates.
And don’t forget — my full Week 11 classic slate breakdown drops Saturday, where I’ll go over cash lineups, my top plays, and core DFS strategies for the main slate.
If you want access to my full DFS spreadsheet and player projections, it’s available on Patreon ($15 for season access or $5 for a one-week pass). You can also grab it on Etsy if that’s easier.
Until next time, good luck building your lineups — and may your captains hit big!
